Slum Stories: Gyuri Romania

Andrei Dascalescu

In 2004, 75 Roma people in de Romanian town of Miercurea Ciuc were forced to leave their homes.

The metal cabins put at their disposal in Primaverii Street were said to be temporary. Six years later, however, the Roma still live in these makeshift houses, under dire circumstances. This short documentary shows street life through the innocent eyes of carefree boy Gyuri, whose favorite pastime is playing in the street with his friends.
