After the film Remke de Lange will talk to filmmaker James Dawson and rewilder Marc Wilbers.
Remke de Lange is a film critic for Trouw and has been involved with Movies that Matter since the festival’s inception. She edits the festival newspaper and organizes the Trouw public day. She also gives guest lectures on film criticism and film analysis for schools. She also teaches Dutch as a Second Language (NT2).
James Dawson is a London-based, award-winning documentary director and producer. With a background in UK television, he has won a Rose d’Or for Secret Millionaire and multiple BAFTAs for Wife Swap, as well as a BAFTA and Grierson Award for Channel 4’s The Trust.
His first feature documentary, Organ Stops: Saving the King of Instruments (2018), follows the race to save Britain’s endangered pipe organs and was screened at festivals in the UK and US before being broadcast by the BBC on Christmas Eve 2023. His latest feature, Derek vs Derek, began production in 2022 and was completed in January 2026.
Marc Wilbers is Head of Education and co-founder of Call of the Wild Media Network, where he collaborates with experts from various disciplines to disseminate education on a large scale. As a wolf expert and rewilding advocate, he is committed to the reintroduction of large predators in Europe. During a lecture in the UK on the return of the wolf, he engaged with farmers and policymakers, which ultimately led to his involvement in a film project. His core message is clear: rewilding is an essential tool for combating biodiversity loss and climate change.
