This summer, in collaboration with beach club Het Puntje, we’re organising a mini film festival at the very tip of Scheveningen! From 21 to 23 August, you’re welcome to join us at De Komma, Het Puntje’s charming annexe, for three films selected in collaboration with Amalna Collective. Each day will feature a film that invites reflection, conversation and connection.

Together with The Hague pop venue PAARD, we are launching Films that Make Noise. A series of topical protest films in which the link between music and social change plays a prominent role.

In connection with the exhibition Woman, Life, Freedom at the Resistance Museum, we recommend films that highlight women's resistance in Iran.

July is Queer & Pride Month, and Amsterdam Pride is just around the corner: the perfect moment to remind us that everyone has the right to be themselves and love whomever they want, and that this is still not a given for everyone. But which film should you watch? We've compiled a list of eight films for the perfect pink summer evening.

What does war do to the people who didn't choose it - but end up in the middle of it? And how do you hold a shaky world order together before things really go wrong? During the Just Peace Festival 2025, in the run-up to the NATO summit in The Hague, Movies that Matter joins forces with PAARD, Flora Filmtheater and Theatre and Filmhuis Dakota with a specially curated film series under the title NATO Film Week, showing the complexity of war and keeping the peace. Four totally different films, with totally different perspectives, together paint one telling picture of these times.
