Shorts: Through the Eyes of Others
Through the Eyes of Others invites us to step outside our own bubbles. The films in this block are told through point-of-view perspectives, immersing us directly in the inner worlds of three individuals. Through their voices and experiences, we gain access to raw emotions, thoughts, fears and desires. From confronting unspeakable childhood trauma in order to move beyond it, to navigating the vulnerable process of transitioning into a truer self, to grappling with the psychological weight of neocolonialism, oppression and genocides streamlined on screen.
Together, these films offer intimate encounters with lives that might otherwise remain distant, reminding us how transformative it can be to see the world through someone else’s eyes.
