Movies that Matter opens eyes to human rights through the power of film. With penetrating feature films and documentaries that hold up a mirror to us, we call people to reflect on pressing issues of our time. Year round, we bring people together with film screenings in schools, during our festival in The Hague, and events and screenings in film theatres throughout the Netherlands, engaging in meaningful conversations. We also support human rights activists internationally with film screenings and impact programmes, and offer advice and support to festival organisers from around the world.
Do you want to contribute to our work? Awesome. As a foundation, we are largely dependent on subsidies and donations. So every gift is very welcome! See below the ways you can support Movies that Matter.
One-off donation

Become a regular donor
Create lasting impact by structurally supporting our work. Choose an amount of your choice and donate by standing order monthly, quarterly or annually. You can easily arrange your contribution using the button below or by filling in this form and sending it by post to the address on the form or by e-mail to us.
Donate with a tax benefit
Increase your impact and donate with tax benefits. You can make your donations to Movies that Matter 100% tax deductible by legally recording them in an agreement for at least five years. The Dutch tax authority, the Belastingdienst, will then contribute up to half of your donation. Calculate your benefit via the ANBI calculator (we are not designated as a cultural ANBI). Then fill in the form below and send it to us by post or email.
Fund contributions, grants and large gifts
Fund contributions, grants and large gifts are of great importance to our work. This can be done by making a one-off donation, but also by making a structural donation. Various renowned funds and partners have already preceded you.
It is possible to donate to a specific programme (for example, our education programme or our international work), but you can also choose to let Movies that Matter choose where the funds can best be used. We will of course keep you informed about how your donation is spent, offer free tickets to our annual film festival and, if you wish, you can also attend programmes outside the festival, such as an On Tour screening or another event.

The Movies that Matter Foundation has been designated by the Dutch tax authority, the Belastingdienst, as an ANBI institution. Your gift is deductible under certain conditions.
