Each year the Movies that Matter Festival welcomes activists from around the world. The activists engage in conversations with the public at our festival and participate in an impact and network programme. Their work is featured in eight impressive documentaries that have a chance to win the Activist Documentary Award during the festival. Below you can find an overview of all activists from the past festival editions.
With our Activist Outreach programme, we support film screenings in the activists’ home country to raise awareness of the film and their work. You can find more information and an overview of the projects we have supported here.
